It’s beginning to look a lot like hampers
When people think of New Era, they think of printing. Fair enough, it is what we do. But every so often a project comes along that has nothing to do with ink and everything to do with getting stuck in, and our hamper making is one we look forward to all year.
More than a print company
We like to say we do on-demand crisis management printing, the sort of quick-turnaround work that saves the day when a deadline is looming. But we get involved in all sorts beyond that. For almost 15 years now, we have had the pleasure of producing gift hampers for a valued client who wanted to reward their own customers with something special, particularly at Christmas.
It is a job we relish, and one we have quietly become rather good at.
From sourcing to sending
What makes the hamper project so satisfying is that we handle the whole thing, start to finish. We source the food, build the hampers, pack them by hand and get them ready to distribute. No middlemen, no shortcuts, just a proper end-to-end job done with care.
Wherever we can, we champion local suppliers. Shropshire is packed with brilliant producers, and there is something genuinely rewarding about filling a hamper with food from just down the road.
A hamper for every budget
No two hampers are the same, and no two clients are either. Our client offers a whole range to suit the size and spend of their own customer list, from a generous £100 centrepiece right down to a thoughtful £12.50 treat. Each one is packed individually with its own selection of goodies.
And the contents? A little bit of everything. We are talking alcohol, chocolates, truffles, jams, chutneys, spices, crackers, waffles and plenty more. If it belongs in a hamper, chances are it has found its way into one of ours.
The packing room favourites
Spend enough time building hampers and you develop your favourites. Two local products have earned a permanent place in our affections. The salted caramel from Cocoa Pizzazz is a proper treat, and you cannot go wrong with the traditional scratchings from the Shropshire Scratching Company. Local produce, doing exactly what local produce should.
Packed with pride
Hamper season is one of the highlights of our year. It is a lovely reminder that a great gift is not just about what is inside, but the thought and care that goes into putting it together. Fifteen years on, we still get a kick out of every single one.
